Our specialist takes the entire process off your plate — from the first eligibility check to the day you hold your German passport.

A named case manager owns your application from eligibility check to passport — no handoffs, no call centres.

We do the paperwork

Every form, translation, certification and appointment prepared to the Einbuergerungsbehoerde's standard.

Complete the first time

No missing documents, no avoidable rejections. We submit right the first time so you are not sent back.

Pathways

How you can become a German citizen

There are several routes to German citizenship. The right one depends on your residence history, family situation and nationality. We assess your case and confirm the best path forward.

Standard naturalisation

For: Foreign nationals living in Germany · Residence: 8 years (or 6–7 with integration course / special achievements)

The most common path. After 8 years of lawful residence (reducible to 6 with an integration course or 7 with special integration achievements), you can apply for German citizenship.

Naturalisation by marriage

For: Spouses of German citizens · Residence: 3 years of residence + 2 years of marriage

A faster route for spouses of German nationals. Requires at least 3 years of lawful residence in Germany and at least 2 years of marriage at the time of application.

Naturalisation by descent

For: People with German parents or ancestors · Residence: No residence requirement

If you were born to a German parent or have German ancestry, you may already be a German citizen by law — or qualify for a simplified declaration procedure.

Dual citizenship

For: Applicants who want to keep their current nationality · Residence: Depends on pathway

Since June 2024, Germany allows dual and multiple citizenship without restrictions. You no longer have to give up your current nationality to become German.

Requirements

What you need to qualify

German naturalisation has clear requirements. We check every one against your profile so you know exactly where you stand before you start.

Lawful residence

8 years in Germany (6 with integration course, 7 with special achievements, 3 for spouses of German citizens).

Settlement permit or EU right

You must hold a Niederlassungserlaubnis, EU Blue Card, or equivalent residence title at the time of application.

German language — B1 or higher

Proven by a Goethe or telc certificate, a German school diploma, or a university degree completed in German.

Naturalisation test (Einbuergerungstest)

33 multiple-choice questions on German law, history and values. 17 correct answers to pass. We provide preparation material.

Clean criminal record

No significant criminal convictions. Minor fines are usually acceptable.

Financial self-sufficiency

You must be able to support yourself and your family without social benefits (Buergergeld / Sozialhilfe).

Commitment to the German constitution

A formal declaration of loyalty to the Basic Law (Grundgesetz) and the democratic order.

Renunciation of previous citizenship

No longer required since June 2024 — Germany now allows full dual and multiple citizenship.

FAQ

Questions we hear every day

How long does the naturalisation process take?
Typically 6–18 months from application to ceremony, depending on your local Einbuergerungsbehoerde and the completeness of your documents. Some offices are faster; others have long backlogs. We submit a complete, error-free file to avoid preventable delays.
Can I keep my current citizenship?
Yes. Since the reform of June 2024, Germany allows dual and multiple citizenship without restrictions. You no longer have to renounce your existing nationality to become German.
What level of German do I need?
B1 or higher, proven by a recognised certificate (Goethe-Zertifikat, telc Deutsch, etc.), a German school diploma, or a university degree completed in German. We can advise on the fastest way to get your proof if you do not have it yet.
What is the Einbuergerungstest?
A standardised multiple-choice test with 33 questions about German law, society, history and values. You need 17 correct answers to pass. We provide preparation materials and practice tests — the pass rate is over 98%.
I have been in Germany for less than 8 years — can I still apply?
Possibly. If you completed an integration course, the requirement drops to 6 years. Special integration achievements (e.g. volunteering, exceptional language skills) can reduce it to 7 years. Spouses of German citizens can apply after 3 years of residence and 2 years of marriage.
Do you handle the whole process or just advise?
We handle it end to end: eligibility check, document gathering, translations, form preparation, appointment booking, authority follow-up and post-approval guidance. You sign and attend the ceremony — we do the rest.
How much does your service cost?
€890.00 for Citizenship by Descent / Declaration, or €1690.00 for the full Naturalisation process (Standard or by Marriage) — a fixed fee, plus €250 per additional family member included in the same application. You book now with no charge, and we email a secure payment link afterwards.
How much does the government fee cost?
The official Einbuergerungsgebuehr is EUR 255 per adult and EUR 51 per minor child. This is a government fee paid directly to the authority, separate from our service fee.
Can my children be included?
Yes. Minor children can often be naturalised together with a parent under simplified conditions. We handle the family application as one coordinated case.
